About : The Goymour Group is a family-run property, leisure, and hospitality organisation, which overseas Goymour Properties, Goymour Homes, Applewood Countryside Park, Applewood Hall and ROARR!

The Challenge

The Goymour Group was seeking a comprehensive training solution for its staff across various departments that included separate entities such as the UK's largest dinosaur-themed adventure park, ROARR! and the tranquil, family-friendly caravan park and campsite, Applewood Countryside Park. They identified a need for a cost-effective online platform to deliver essential compliance training to current and newly hired employees, while also supporting professional development through access to a library of online courses.

Employees were required to complete a collection of core Health and Safety training courses. In addition, staff working in specific departments, such as Food & Beverage, had to complete the mandatory Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene course.

Each new member required onboarding to the platform and then allocating core compliance courses related to their specific job role. This process needed to be managed seamlessly by the Health and Safety Manager and with minimal disruption to the businesses and their services during working hours. A key requirement was ensuring that staff who were unfamiliar with online training felt supported throughout the process.

With a diverse portfolio of sites, each with its own training structure, they required a unified solution that could maintain a high standard of training and compliance across the organisations. It was also essential that all training activity could be evidenced and easily demonstrated to the directors.

The Solution

Over 2,200 courses were delivered through Train4Academy’s Learning Management System, including accredited Health & Safety training such as Working at Height, Manual Handling, Slips, Trips and Falls, and Lone Working. Food and Beverage staff completed T4A’s Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering, while others used the HR & Soft Skills online library for professional self-development.

The Training Management Suite allowed the Health and Safety Manager to enrol staff across the organisation and onboard new employees in line with training requirements. The Training & Compliance Matrix tracked required courses and their frequency, while bespoke rules enabled departmental reporting, these evidence-based insights helped directors recognise the platform’s value to make informed decisions.

The Result

The partnership with Train4Academy led to improved training outcomes. The Goymour Group organisation now benefit from higher standards of evidence-based training, enhancing confidence in onboarding new hires. Employee progress is easily tracked, helping identify those in need of additional support or engagement with the platform.

Divisions under the Goymour Group that use the T4A platform have maintained consistent staff skill levels, with refresher training provided for those renewing certifications. As a result, professional development and compliance are continuously managed and updated, easily verified via the platform’s dashboard, ensuring an efficient and productive workforce.

Looking ahead, the Goymour Group plans to maintain its current training setup, ensuring continued access to mandatory core courses as well as optional self-development. The measurable value and results achieved have laid a solid foundation for future growth where a license extension has already been actioned in the first year.
