Working in Hot Conditions is an online training course that raises awareness of the risks associated with heat stress in the workplace. It helps employees understand how to work safely in hot environments, including workplaces with artificial heat sources such as ovens, furnaces, and industrial processes, as well as outdoor work during hot weather.

The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require employers to maintain reasonable workplace temperatures and protect workers from heat-related hazards. However, managing thermal comfort is not as simple as reading a thermometer.

A thermal risk assessment can help to significantly reduce the risk of overheating at work. Fatigue and loss of concentration caused by excessive heat can make it harder for workers to perform safety-critical tasks. Heat-related injuries and illnesses are entirely preventable with proper risk management and control measures, topics that are explored in this online course aimed at reducing heat stress in the workplace.

Who is this Hot Conditions Course for?

This online training is suitable for anyone who works in hot conditions or is exposed to heat as part of their job role. It is particularly relevant for workers in industries including, but not limited to, foundries, bakeries, glass manufacturing, and other environments involving heat-generating industrial processes, as well as those exposed to high seasonal temperatures.

The training is also appropriate for senior staff who have responsibilities for managing heat risks, identifying vulnerable workers, and ensuring safe working practices are in place.

Helping organisations manage the risks associated with low temperatures and cold environments, we also offer dedicated training for employees working in cold conditions.
