This Personal Protective Equipment PPE training course covers a range of different topics which are of high importance when undertaking any work that may cause a risk to health. The legislation that places duties on the employer is The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992, which outlines the general requirements, including the provision, maintenance, use and storage of equipment.
This course looks at the ‘hierarchy of controls’ which should be followed as it is a recognised industry standard, it also looks at the different legislations that are required to be followed when providing or wearing PPE.
This course will help workers to understand the different types of PPE and the responsibilities that employers and employees have when PPE is needed to be given or worn.
This course is ideal for anybody who is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment whilst at work. It ensures that the learner gains knowledge in why PPE is important within the workplace and which PPE they may need when undergoing work activities.

An Introduction to Personal Protective Equipment Awareness
This section introduces the learner to the course. It helps to recognise why PPE is needed within the workplace.
Module 1 - The Law and Risk Controls
This section of the course concentrates on the different legislations that are important in regards to health and safety and the use of PPE.
Module 2 - Different Types of PPE
This section of the course covers the varieties of PPE that can be used, and which PPE should be used for specific operations, such as, gloves, goggles, ear defenders, etc.
Module 3 - Use of PPE
In this final section, you will cover the benefits and limitations of wearing PPE. Overall, it looks at how to use and store PPE properly to ensure that risks to health are minimised.
On completion of the course lessons and training material an online assessment will automatically unlock. The assessment will contain 15 multiple-choice questions and a mark of 75% or above will be required to pass.
The assessment will be marked instantly and so you will know straight away if you have passed or not. If you don't pass first time there's no need to worry. Unlimited resits at absolutely no additional charge are available so you can retake the assessment again as many times as you need to.
