An Introduction to Abrasive Wheels Training
This section introduces the learner to the course and what grinding wheels are and what they are typically made of.
Module 1 - Categories of Grinding Wheels and Relevant Legislation
This section of the course concentrates on the different categories of grinding wheels and their importance. It also looks at the vital legislation, such as PUWER, Provision of Use of Work Regulations 1998
Module 2 - 5 Step Risk Assessment
This section of the course covers what is included in the five steps to a risk assessment and who should complete them. It also looks at the definition of a hazard and a risk, as well as the hazards caused by grinding wheels
Module 3 - Operator Checks
In this final section, you will cover the importance of operator checks before starting any grinding wheel operation and look at the ‘abrasive wheel don'ts’.
On completion of the course lessons and training material an online assessment will automatically unlock. The assessment will contain 15 multiple-choice questions and a mark of 75% or above will be required to pass.
The assessment will be marked instantly and so you will know straight away if you have passed or not. If you don't pass first time there's no need to worry. Unlimited resits at absolutely no additional charge are available so you can retake the assessment again as many times as you need to.
