Unconscious Bias Training Course
This Unconscious Bias course has been designed to help learners understand that opinions and thoughts that initially come to mind aren't necessarily accurately formed but are created unconsciously due to our personal experience, which can often lead to biased decision-making, such as judgements based on stereotypes.
Correcting unconscious bias thinking is important because of the impact it can have in the workplace. Currently, 36% of UK adults have reported workplace discrimination, with age discrimination being the biggest contributor.
With several types of unconscious biases to challenge, this course raises awareness which will empower individuals looking to improve their decision-making skills for their own benefit and for bringing a level of equality and diversity to the forefront of the workplace. A diverse workplace with less bias will create a richer workforce, but to do this, it means we must be willing to challenge and accept our own unconscious.

Training Course Content
This course is made up of the following modules:
An Introduction to Unconscious Bias Training
This section introduces the learner to the course and unconscious bias.
Section 1 - What is Unconscious Bias and the importance of correcting it?
This section looks at the defining the term "unconscious bias" as well as the negative consequences of not challenging the subconscious.
Section 2 - Becoming familiar of the Different Types of Unconscious Bias
This section looks at why people may have unconscious biases toward a person, and to understand the most common types.
Section 3 - The Horn and the Halo effect
This section concentrates on understanding term 'the horn and halo effect' which imprints a level of expectation on individuals where they can seem to do no wrong, or in some cases can do no right.
Section 4 - Elimination of biases - Your own and in the workplace
This section looks at steps that can be taken to help reduce the individual’s own biases and attempt to tackle bias in the workplace through education, assessing the hiring process, and striving for a diverse workplace.
On completion of the course lessons and training material an online assessment will automatically unlock. The assessment will contain 15 multiple-choice questions and a mark of 75% or above will be required to pass.
The assessment will be marked instantly and so you will know straight away if you have passed or not. If you don't pass first time there's no need to worry. Unlimited resits at absolutely no additional charge are available so you can retake the assessment again as many times as you need to.

Ordering Courses and Payment
Add your selected courses to the basket using the Green ‘Add to Basket’ button. Once you have added all the required courses to the basket, you can then start the checkout process and complete your purchase using a Credit or Debit Card.

Accessing the Training Course
Now you have completed your order we will email you a Receipt along with a second email titled ‘Online Course Registration Details’. This will contain all the information you will need to register a user on the Training Course. Emails are sent within minutes of a completed transaction so as soon as you complete your order you will receive your confirmation emails straight away.
Registering on the Training Course
The Online Course Registration Details will contain a Course Code and a unique Course Activation Key – these can be used to create a user account and access the Training Course. Follow the instructions to get up and running on the course.
Please note: If you have ordered more than one course you will receive multiple Course Activation Keys in the Course Registration email.
