Equality and Diversity Training Course
This Equality and Diversity training course will help all employees to understand their responsibilities and to encourage the promotion of equality and diversity in the workplace.
By referring to the Equality Act 2010, the course will look at the nine protected characteristics, which help employees become aware of what is considered discrimination by either words or actions. Staff will be in a better position to promote the importance of a fairer and diverse workplace environment.

Who is this Equality and Diversity training course for?
This online course can is suited for learners of all levels regardless of job role. Managers, supervisors, employees and employers all have a moral responsibility to actively promote a healthy equal and diverse workplace. As this is an awareness training course, no formal understanding or prior knowledge of this subject matter is required.
This course aims to help employees understand the importance of equality and diversity in the workplace. It will give employees the relevant knowledge and skills they will need that will help them to understand what behaviours are acceptable under the Equality Act 2010. They will be able to recognise and distinguish between certain types of discrimination.
Training Course Content
This course is made up of the following modules:
Defining Equality and Diversity
Find out what is meant by Equality and Diversity and how they can be promoted within
a working environment.
Module 1 - Meeting Legal Requirements
This section will cover the Equality Act 2010 and the nine protected characteristics, which include age, disability, gender management, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, gender and sexual orientation.
Module 2 - Types of Discrimination
Find out about direct and indirect discrimination including the definition of victimisation, bullying and whistleblowing. Discover how you can personally help to develop a fairer, more inclusive working environment
On successful completion of the course, you should be able to:
- Define Equality & Diversity.
- Identify ways of promoting Equality & Diversity.
- Recognise and distinguish between direct and indirect discrimination.
- Identify harassment, victimisation and bullying behaviour.
- Take appropriate action to develop a fairer, more inclusive working environment for all.
This course should take approximately 35 minutes to complete, but ultimately this is dependent on you as the learner.
On completion of the course, you will be required to take an online assessment that will consist of 15 multiple-choice questions.
Successful candidates will have scored 75% (12) or above and will be given the option to print the certificate directly from the computer printer.
Equality & Diversity Training Certification
On successful completion of the online course assessment, you will be able to print/save your equality & diversity training certificate. In addition to this, an email is sent to the candidate containing a link to the certificate.
This is the simplest, most convenient way to achieve compliance. Also, a QR code has been added to the certificate, which can be scanned by a smartphone to establish the certificate’s validity.
