This course aims to give learners the understanding of different types of teams and what to do when resolving team conflict and provide the much-needed skills to become a collaborative, successful and confident team member or team leader.

- Recognise the strengths and weakness of team working and the key stages of team development
- Identify the main team roles according to Belbin’s theory
- Recognise the value of knowing your own team
- Identify common ‘ﬂashpoints’, the possible consequences of conﬂict and the characteristics of effective and ineffective teams
- Recognise the value of celebrating team success and learning from any mistakes

This course is made up of the following modules:
Introduction to Team working: The basics
Find out about the different types of teams, both short-term and long-term.
Module 1 - Teams - Theories and dynamics
This section will cover the stages of team development and Belbin’s team roles.
Module 2 - Successful team working
Knowing your team, working in teams, managing team conflict and celebrating and learning.
Module 3 - Dealing with Conflict
Explores the reasons for conflict, how to handle it and most importantly how to resolve it.
Module 4 - Effective Delegation
Explore nine roles and characteristics that are essential to the success of a team, as well as how performance can be improved.
Module 5 - Find Your Role
The benefits of delegation, deciding what to delegate, planning and then briefing your team and monitoring the team’s progress.
Module 6 - Effective Meetings
Looks at the planning stage, in which you set objectives, create an agenda and decide who will attend the meeting, where it will take place and when.
Module 7 - Performance Troubleshooting
How the working environment can influence performance and the importance of giving feedback when dealing with performance problems.
Module 8 - Collaborative Working
Explores the reasons for collaboration in the workplace, the different types of collaboration and the key to successful collaboration..
On completion of the course lessons and training material an online assessment will automatically unlock. The assessment will contain 15 multiple-choice questions and a mark of 75% or above will be required to pass.
The assessment will be marked instantly and so you will know straight away if you have passed or not. If you don't pass first time there's no need to worry. Unlimited resits at absolutely no additional charge are available so you can retake the assessment again as many times as you need to.
