Course Aim
Safeguarding is the action taken to prevent harm, promote the welfare of children and protecting them from harm. This course is designed to help recognise potential indicators of abuse, harm, and neglect by following a series of videos that tell a story.
Learning Objectives
On completion of the course, you should be able to:
- Identify the potential signs of child abuse and the vulnerabilities associated with children
- Describe the different types of abuse
- Explain the risks associated with the internet and social media
- Explain how parental/carer/ family facts and risks outside the home can impact the wellbeing of children
- List the rights of a child within a safeguarding or child protection context
- List the different steps that need to be taken if you’ve a concern.
Course Content
This course is made up of the following modules for the Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults course:

Module 1 - What is Safeguarding
This module looks at what safeguarding is and how this can help prevent promote the welfare of children, protecting them from harm.

Module 2 - Identifying Harm
This module outlines what actions should be taken in the event of a safeguarding concern, including the key duties of a designated safeguarding lead.

Module 3 - Wider Safeguarding Concerns
The final module of the course covers the actions that should be taken, vulnerabilities associated with children, organised criminal activity and online safety.

Assessment
On completion of the course lessons and training material an online assessment will automatically unlock. The assessment will contain 10 multiple-choice questions and a mark of 75% or above will be required to pass.
The assessment will be marked instantly and so you will know straight away if you have passed or not. If you don't pass first time there's no need to worry. Unlimited resits at absolutely no additional charge are available so you can retake the assessment again as many times as you need to.
Safeguarding Children Training Certification
