This online training aims to raise awareness about the impact of drug and alcohol abuse in the workplace. Learners will gain an understanding of the risks associated with substance abuse, the importance of a drug-free and alcohol workplace, and how to identify and address potential issues effectively.

Training Course Content

This course is made up of the following modules:

  • An Introduction to Drug & Alcohol Awareness

    This section introduces the learner to the course and looks at the definition of lone working.

  • Module 1 - Risks and Hazards

    This section of the course concentrates on what addiction is and the different types of substances that are most commonly abused. It also looks at how addiction can occur, as well as the 4 C's of addiction.

  • Module 2 - Signs and Symptoms of Drug and Alcohol Abuse

    This section of the course covers the signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol abuse. It raises awareness of how to look out for both physical and mental symptoms. It also looks at the relevant regulations that are in place to help prevent substance abuse at work.

  • Module 3 - The Importance of Communication

    This final section covers anti-drug and alcohol policies in the workplace and how to help workers who may be suffering from addiction or substance abuse.


Assessment

On completion of the course lessons and training material an online assessment will automatically unlock. The assessment will contain 15 multiple-choice questions and a mark of 75% or above will be required to pass.

The assessment will be marked instantly and so you will know straight away if you have passed or not. If you don't pass first time there's no need to worry. Unlimited resits at absolutely no additional charge are available so you can retake the assessment again as many times as you need to.
