Asbestos service company Environment Essentials has received £3.2m from the government-backed Business Growth Fund (BGF), it announced today.
Launched in 2004 and based out of Stoke-0n-Trent, the company provides asbestos management, training and surveying to businesses, authorities and public sector organisations and has a client list which includes Asda, Savills and Marks & Spencer.
The business, which is on track to generate year-end revenues of approximately £10m, will use the funding to open a national asbestos training centre at its Stoke headquarters alongside a new office in Aberdeen focused on the oil and gas industry.
As part of the deal, Simon Cashmore – current CEO of TCL Group, will join the Environmental Essentials’ board as non-executive chairman while BGF investor Mark Freer has also been assigned to the company’s board.
